What can you get banned for reddit?

For violations of the sub-reddit rules. They can sometimes be quite absurd, for example:
you can't use emoticons
you can't leave a link to an onlink in YOUR profile
you can't upload photos (only from certain platforms)
you can't write certain words
you can't put a question mark
and so on ad infinitum.

Unfortunately, each subreddit has its own rules, so be sure to read them before posting, and be mentally prepared for bans - they are unlikely to be avoided.
